It started as a serious but focused and hopeful joke. It was and still is a Divine Appointment after a tragic human disappointment.

I was, along with others, prematurely, ignobly and forcefully retired in December 2000. ALL MY Hopes were hinged on the fact that I would be moving around conducting private English and Literature Lesson. That started earnestly in January 2001. Great encouragement and succor came from my better half and kids.

One fateful morning, at about ten o’clock, one of my academic and Administrative mentors Mr. Tope Ogunleye came to my house. He met me teaching English Language to about forty certificate students. After the usual pleasantries, he said in his characteristics ljesa Dialect, “O ra wi o ti bere sukuru re” i. e “You didn’t tell us that you have started your school.”

I waved him off lackadaisically. But before he left he told me to think seriously on what he said. The word kept on echoing in my sub-consciousness. I muted the idea to my better half and she urged me to take decision step. We continued to pray and we acted. We did not allow financial constraints to deter us. We threw our energies to the venture. Events started to follow one another in amazing dimensions.

Mr. Tope Ogunleye prodded us on. We moved and God moved. And so on September 3, 2001, the first set of JSC 1 & 2 Students and staff came together with eminent men of God among whose were Ven. NB Ajakaiye and Pastor G. F. Dairo to inaugurate.

The little mustard seed that was planted on that glorious day has blossomed into a formidable tree.

The journey has been tortuous and not without hiccups and challenges. But with God as the Principal partner and with the prayers, backing and criticisms of well-wishers, friends and foes alike, we are marching on. And so, here we are, years after.
